Alice Faye Meadows Pritchett, age 77, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 2, 2018 after battling lung cancer for nearly 6 years.Alice was born on May 5, 1941 to the late Milton and Estelle Meadows and grew up in Cary, Georgia.She attended Cary Schools and also went to Cochran High School.
Alice lived in Hawkinsville for 40 years and was an active member of Broad Street Baptist Church.She was an accomplished pianist and played at many of the churches where she and her husband ministered.She was gifted with creativity and enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years, and was greatly loved and adored by the older women she taught.She was blessed with many friends and had the gift of encouragement.She was talented in writing and wrote 600 plus prayers for the Macon Telegraph.She was honored when one of her many poems, "People Down the Street", was published in the Women's Missionary Union magazine.She was a loving and devoted mother and was "Na-Na" to her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.She also dearly loved her brother, nephew and three nieces.
Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Kelly Pritchett, Jr., with whom she shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with, and children, Debbie Pritchett, Lisa Davis (Gary), Cindy Pritchett and Chris Pritchett (Kimberly).She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tiffany Herman and is survived by her grandchildren, Jamie King (Courtney), Christie Bergh (Brandon), Casey Herman (Lauren), Gillian Pritchett and Brett Lucas Pritchett and two great grandchildren Chandler Bergh and Maylee King.Alice has one brother, Thomas Meadows and a nephew and three nieces.
Her visitation will be at Broad Street Baptist Church on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service celebrating her Christian life will be held at Broad Street Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.Dr. Robert Woodall, Dr. Jeff Waters, Rev. Clyde Evans and Rev. Freddy Hogg will be officiating.The graveside will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, Georgia.
