Allene T. Daniel

Allene T. Daniel, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home on September 12, 2022.  Allene was born July 9, 1927, to Tom Thompson Sr. and Allene Hooten Thompson, and was later reared by her stepmother, Sara Sue Thompson.  She graduated from Eatonton High School, Class of 1944.  Allene attended Wesleyan College, where she received her degree in English Literature in 1948.  She retired as a schoolteacher from Hawkinsville High School and was the pianist for Antioch Baptist Church for more than four decades.  She was an avid reader, bridge player, and loved to watch sports, especially the Atlanta Braves. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom Daniel and husband Woodson Daniel.  She is survived by her daughter Tammy Coleman (Clint), son, Scott Daniel, and brother Tom Thompson Jr. (Pam).   She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Coleman, Corey Reynolds, Dalton Reynolds, Cassie Cothren and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022, 11:00 am at Orange Hill Cemetery with Rev. Fred Parker presiding.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at her home at 15 Kamelia Drive in Hawkinsville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ABC Backpack Ministries in care of Antioch Baptist Church, 449 Paul Scarborough Rd. Hawkinsville Ga. 31036
