Alwayne Copeland Finleyson, (MiMi), 78, of Hawkinsville, Ga. Died at St. Simons Island, Georgia on Saturday, November 20, 2010.Funeralservices will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Finleyson, Ga. with Rev. John Walker officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Finleyson was a native of Bainbridge, Ga. and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.She was a retired teacher having taught for 31 years in Spaulding, Pulaski and Bibb counties.She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her lighthouses.She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Finleyson.
Survivors include Beverly (Andy) Anderson of Brunswick, Ga., Sandra (Wayne Woods) and Bill (Amy) Finleyson, all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; siblings, Prestine (Hank) Sowa of Brunswick, Ga., Mary (Cecil) Ramsey of Leesburg, Ga., George (Sandra) Copeland of Bainbridge, Ga. and Deborah (Rex) Faulkner of Albany, Ga.; grandchildren, Mike (Cheri) Glass of Brunswick, Ga., Mitch (Rachel) Glass of Pensacola, Fla., Lance Woods, Maria Woods and Liz (Eric) Cowart, all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Clark Funeral Home.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Finleyson, Eastman Highway, Hawkinsville, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Mike Glass, Mitch Glass, Lance Woods, Wes Woods, Walker Woods, Eric Cowart and Rick Moody.
The family requests that donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Fund.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
