Bernice Neil Fowler Southerland

Bernice Neil Fowler Southerland, age 96, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Kingsford Personal Care in Hawkinsville.

Bernice was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, having joined in July of 1947. Many years later she truly enjoyed being a member of the Faith Sunday School Class and also volunteered for several years as the church’s chief financial officer. For 49 years, since 1974, she was co-owner and Financial Controller of the Hawkinsville Publishing Company.

Preceding her in death were her parents Ladelle Gresham Fowler and Clovis Jackson Fowler; her husband of 49 years, Charlie Raymond Southerland, Jr.; and her brothers Mac Fowler and Jack Fowler.

Services will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Don McClung officiating. The family will greet friends from 10a.m. to 10:45a.m. prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will be private and held at the Southerland family plot at Orange Hill Cemetery.
