Mrs. Betty H. Bobo went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19 from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Clark Funeral Home, Hawkinsville, Georgia. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 20, at 11:00 am at Limestone Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Jay Moore and Pastor Calvin Bobo. Dress is casual and colorful, please.
Betty was a native of Pulaski County, Georgia, and a longtime member of Limestone Baptist Church. Betty’s joy for life was evident to all. Her laughter was contagious, and she never met a stranger. She always had a smile for everyone.
Betty was a 1955 graduate of Hawkinsville High School. She was a player for the basketball team, and she was a cheerleader for the football team. She was voted “most athletic girl” of her senior class.
Betty loved the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. She worked diligently alongside her husband, Bobby, at home and on the farm. She canned a lot of fruits and vegetables, and gave most of them away to friends. Betty especially loved spending time with her family and friends. You never left hungry from her house, because she was always cooking something delicious.
Betty loved the Lord, and the life with which He blessed her. She enjoyed singing in the sanctuary choir at Limestone Baptist Church for many years. Also, she sang the Lord’s praises for years in the gospel music group, “The Spirit Lifters.” She sang with her whole heart and with every ounce of enthusiasm she had.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin Hadden, Sr. and Sarah Ellen Daniel Hadden; a brother, John Calvin Hadden, Jr.; and a son, Guy Avery Plowden, III.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 54 years, Bobby Louis Bobo; children, CJ Bobo, Calvin (Janet) Bobo, and Betsy (Matt) Brown; grandchildren, Macon Brown, Adam Bobo, and Michael Poleschuk. She also leaves behind special family friends Velda Shackelford & family, Shelby Woody & family, Robyn Busbee & family, Mahogany Brown & family and Emily Dorris & family.
If you so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Gideons International, a worldwide Bible-distribution ministry (P. O. Box 95, Cochran, Georgia).
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
