Mrs. Betty Bloodworth Mays, 90, of Rochelle, Georgia passed away, Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Pine Point Hospice in Macon, Georgia. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 16 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Mr. Bobby Brown, Mr. Michael Bloodworth and Rev. Blake Westbrook officiating.
Betty was a native of Wilcox County, Georgia and a member of the Oaks Baptist Church. She was a retired LPN having worked for Pineview Healthcare Center for 26 years. She loved cooking, reading and gardening. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Zachariah and Sallie Mae Stevens Bloodworth; husband, Leon Mays; sisters, Mildred Selph, Lucille Bloodworth; brothers, Otha Bloodworth, Zach Bloodworth, George Bloodworth, Paul Bloodworth, Jim Tom Bloodworth and Jacob Bloodworth.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Mays Brown (Bobby) of Rochelle, Georgia; grandchildren, Alex Holmes (April) of Unadilla, Kayla Hair (John) of Hawkinsville, Ga., Josh Brown (Lindsey) of Rochelle, Ga., Dee Dee Sellers (Jim) of Adel, Ga. and 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Bloodworth of Bonaire, Ga.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Gideons International, 524 Poplar Street, Macon, Georgia 31201 or Pine Point Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.
