Bobby Gene Holmes, 82, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away June 24, 2015 at the Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Hawkinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Don McClung andRev. Dr. Gary Abbott officiating.Burial will be in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Holmes was a native of Pulaski County and a member of Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.He had a life-long career as an Insurance Broker and representative and was also a pre-needs counselor for Clark Funeral Home. He was a charter member of the Pulaski Lions Club.Bobby was a Licensed Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer at Clark Funeral Home for 20 years, a calling that he dearly enjoyed because of his love and compassion for people.Bob was a dedicated race fan at the Cochran Motor Speedway where you would most surely find him every Saturday night.His greatest love was for his family and his four-legged companion "Willie".He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Holmes.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Hutcheson Holmes,Hawkinsville, GA;daughters:Carol Clark (Fred), Hawkinsville, GA; Lisa Cook (Kevin), Dry Branch, GA; grandchildren:Alex Holmes (April), Kayla Hair (John), Jay Clark, Christopher Clark (Ashley), Candi Clark Dokey (Tom), Josh Cook, Chris Cook, Marty Anderson and 9 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lynette Holmes; nieces and nephews:Sue Johnson, Jimmy Holmes, Rhonda Hutcheson Bowden and Randy Hutcheson, brother and sister-in-laws, Loy and Jackie Hutcheson.Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be held at 1p.m. prior to the service at the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.
