Herman Wilson "Buddy - Cowboy" Davis, Jr. age 59 of Hawkinsville, Georgia died on July 20, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service for Mr. Davis will be held at 2p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Blake Westbrook and Rev. Lance Smith officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
Buddy was born on August 9, 1958 to the late Herman and Nomie Davis. He was raised in Bleckley County and was a Christian. He spent many years as manager and automotive technician employed at Woodard's Service Station in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Cowboy loved to spend time with his family and watch episodes of The Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle USMC.
Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Kathy Cheek Davis of Hawkinsville, Georgia; daughters, Chelsea (Thomas) Evans and Tory (Ryan Brannen) Peavy both of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchild, Evie Evans; sisters, Margaret Knight of Cochran, Georgia, Ruth Yates of Tennessee, Mary Parks of Florida and Catherine Caudell of Milledgeville, Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to the Buddy "Cowboy" Davis Fund, C/O Sunmark Community Bank, 140 Commerce St., Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036.
