Carolyn Strock Higgs Combs, age 94 of Hawkinsville, Georgia, passed away on March 12, 2024. She is survived by her three sons Wayne Higgs (Lois), Edwin Higgs (Debra), Gerald Higgs (Lesley) and daughter Linda Higgs DeRosa (Troy). She treasured her 10 grandchildren Allan Higgs, Richard Higgs, Edwin Higgs, Jacob Higgs, Henry Higgs, Daniel DeRosa, Christina DeRosa Hussey, Jonathan DeRosa, Nicole Higgs, and Byron Higgs.

Carolyn Strock was born with her twin sister, Marilyn, in Miami FL, and raised with her siblings Kenneth Strock, Arthur Strock, Lois Strock (all deceased), and brother Sonny Headlee (Margaret) (Fruitland Park, FL). She worked and supported herself through her teen years until 1947, when she met and married a handsome young sailor, Henry Higgs. Then in 1966 she moved her family to Hawkinsville Georgia, where they put down roots. She worked at M. Snower Corporation in Hawkinsville for many years. After she was widowed, she moved to Warner Robins where she began a new career at Robins AFB until her retirement. She learned square dancing and enjoyed traveling to many dancing events. In 1996 she married Robert Combs and they enjoyed many years together until his death in 2014.
Carolyn modeled strength, acceptance, faithfulness, and love. Though fiercely independent, she knew her gifts and strength came from God and her savior Jesus Christ, and over her lifetime relied on the prayer that never fails, “Thy will be done.”
