Charles Raymond Hedden

Mr. Charles Raymond Hedden, age 76, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Taylor Regional Hospital.  Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 22 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.  A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 in Powers Cemetery with Rev. Terry Hedden officiating.

Mr. Hedden was a native of Pulaski County, Georgia and a member of the Baptist faith.  He graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 1967.  Raymond served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Pocono from 1968-1974. He also graduated from Barber school in 1968 and served and the ship’s barber during his time in service.  Mr. Hedden was retired from Blue Bird and Coca Cola as a fork lift driver and route truck driver.  He loved the outdoors and spent most days hunting and fishing or riding his tractor.  Raymond also loved the Georgia Bulldogs.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Delois Hedden, daughter, Wendy Laine Hedden and brother, Larry Hedden.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary Skipper Hedden; son, Joey (Amy) Johnson; daughter, April Johnson; brother, Stevie (Sandy) Hedden; half-brother, Don Hedden; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Jessica (Brad) Davis, Sam Johnson, Marvin Fulford and his newest addition great-granddaughter, Olivia Davis.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital: 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
