Charles Richard Helms
March 1, 1930 — January 16, 2013
Mr. Helms was a native of Lebanon, Illinois and a member of Broad Street Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and a retired tire salesman. Richard was also a member of the Hawkinsville VFW and the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his son, Charles R. "Butch" Helms of Hawkinsville, Georgia; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Helms of Cochran, Georgia, Paul Taylor of Cochran, Georgia, Howard Taylor of Kathleen, Georgia and Buddy Taylor of Fort Valley, Georgia; sisters, Lucy Meggs of Monroe, North Carolina and Juanita Law of Bonaire, Georgia; grandson, Chris Helms of Warner Robins, Georgia; granddaughter, Ashley Williams of Hawkinsville, Georgia and 5 great-grandchildren.
