Charles D. McClung, 87, of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 in the Taylor Regional Hospital.Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11a.m. in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Dr. Kelly Pritchett officiating.Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mr. McClung was a native of Pulaski County, a member of the Baptist Faith and a retired insurance agent with Life of Georgia.Mr. McClung was a veteran of World War II with the Army Air Corp. having served in the European and Pacific theatre.He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Stephen McClung.
Mr. McClung is survived by his sister Grace Curry of Hawkinsville, Ga.; brother Ed McClung of Augusta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews including special niece Barbara (William) Nesmith of Hawkinsville, Ga.; two great nieces Monica (Joey) Morris of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Mandy (Michael) Scott of Cochran, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Randy McClung, Bob McClung,Jamie Shurley, Joey Morris, Allen Griffin, Bill Anderson, Franklin Jones, Al Anderson and Michael Scott.Honarary pallbearers will be Dan English, Wanda English and Mike King.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Hawkinsville, Ga.
Family may be contacted at the home of Bobbi and William Nesmith.
