Mr. Charles Leon Swain, Sr., 83, of Hawkinsville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at his residence.A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
Mr. Swain was a native of Dodge County, Ga. and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.He retired from the Heart of Georgia after 40+ years and also worked for Simpson Farms. Charles was one of the first members of the Pulaski County Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.He was also the founder of the Hawkinsville River Rats.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Kirkpatrick Swain of Hawkinsville, Ga.; son, Charles L. Swain, Jr. (Robin) of Austin, Texas; daughter, Doris Ann Swain of Hawkinsville, Ga.; step-children, Jason Mullis (Michelle) of Hawkinsville, Ga., Danielle Dunn (John) of Chester, Ga., Nichole Mullis of Eastman, Ga.; brother, Samuel Young Swain, III, brother and sisters in law, Gene Kirkpatrick (Jackie) of Chester, Ga., Ronnie Floyd (Winifred) of Cochran, Ga., Phillip Dykes (Dianne) of Cochran, Ga., Larry Kirkpatrick of Cochran, Ga., Karl and Rachel Hilliard of Eastman, Ga., Evelyn Kirkpatrick of Cochran, Ga.,Linda Dominy, sisters, Faye Simpson of Hawkinsville, Ga., and Fran Delores Gibson; grandchildren, Jason Swain (Brandy), Austin Dixon (Brittney), Jacob Wright, Ellie Ann Dunn, Dillion Anderson, Emily Roddenberry, Lyndsey Mullis, Blade Mullis,Sarah Allen; Great grandchildren, Brodie Swain, Kailyn Swain , Allyona Mullis and Elijah Melvin.
