Clinton B. "Pete" Crooms, age 84, of Hawkinsville, Georgia died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Broad Street Baptist Church with Dr. Kelly Pritchett and Rev. Jeff Waters officiating. Burial will be private.
Mr. Crooms was a native of Bleckley County Georgia and a member and Deacon of the Broad Street Baptist Church. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from the Georgia Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant with over 40 years of military service and was also a retired Pulaski County school bus driver. Mr. Crooms was devoted to his wife, Evelyn and was a very devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn C. Crooms of Hawkinsville, Georgia; daughter, Beverly (Leslie) Sewell of Hawkinsville, Georgia; son, Gary (Marsha) Crooms of Perry, Georgia; grandchildren, Shay Crooms, Meaghen Crooms, Ashley (Tray) Conner and Les (Melissa) Sewell. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Cady Sewell.
Friends may visit at the Crooms residence, 7 Hillbright St., Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036 from 2p.m. to 5p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014.
