Deborah Kay Gatlin left this life on Friday, December 9th at home with her family.She was born on December 19, 1952, to the late Donald Wesley Livingston and Opal Vereen Livingston. She attended school in Destin Florida, until transferring to Hawkinsville High School her senior year. Married 36 years to Dwight Gatlin, she was also the daughter in law to George Milton Gatlin Jr and Lilly Ethel Gatlin.
During Debbie's Air Force civilian service and contractor career, she served in many capacities: Item Manager, Data Systems Analyst, and Systems Subject Matter Expert. She was considered by many as more than just a co-worker, she was also considered a dear friend. She was known and well respected for her knowledge, dedication, passion, directness, and generous heart.
Bubbles, as some affectionately knew her, was headstrong, and was never afraid to tell you exactly what was on her mind. She was most often seen gushing about her grandchildren, and could be heard yelling, loudly, at baseball games from time to time. She loved her family and friends dearly, and she was loved by many.
Debbie is survived by her husband Dwight Gatlin, sisters Donna Stewart (David), Lynn Fulton (Harry), sons Shane Savant (Holly), Sam Gatlin (Joan), daughter Nancy Ellen Martin (Brian), grandchildren Sydney, Grace, Ethan, Alex, Hannah, and Sarah, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14th from 1pm-2:45pm at Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville Georgia, Memorial Service to follow at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support Pulmonary Fibrosis research at www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/ways-to-give/donate-now .
