Donald Ray White, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died on March 24, 2024 at the age of 84. Don was born on July 12, 1939, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Ray and Lidia Steinwedel White. Don lost his parents at a young age and was raised by his sister and brother-in-law, Madeline and Hobby McMillin, with their four children: Mick, Gary, Susie and Scott. After graduation from Danville High School, Don served his country in the United States Navy USS San Marcos. Following his discharge from service, Don started his career with Continental Can/Crown, Cor and Seal in Tampa FL, moving to the company's Perry, GA location from which he retired in 1984. Don then joined the Houston County School System, serving the Warehouse and Distribution department, retiring in 1997. Following retirement, Don and his wife, Annette, spent a number of years traveling extensively across the US and Canada. They were blessed to share many of their travels with their three grandsons, especially the National Parks of the West. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Madeline McMillin, Mary Pickett, and Doris Pollard, and his nephew Mick McMillin. Left to treasure their memories of Don are his wife, Annette Ford White of Haynesville; his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Kathy White of Hawkinsville; his grandson Christopher and wife Lesley of Hawkinsville; his grandson Patrick and wife Allyson of Cochran; and his grandson David and wife Anna of Hawkinsville; and eight great grandchildren: Hailey, Hunter, Grayson, Sawyer, Madelyn, Abigail, Cooper and Colton. Also, his special niece and nephews: Susie and husband Bob of Noble, IL, Gary and wife Paula of St Louis, MO, and Scott McMillin of Danville, IL.
