Edgar Roy Sanders, Jr.

Mr. Edgar Roy Sanders, Jr., 91, of  Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at his residence.  Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Haynesville with Rev. David Fisher officiating.

Mr. Sanders was a native of Osage County, Oklahoma and a member of the Hayneville Baptist Church.  He was a retired signalman having worked for 43 years for Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Mildred Sanders and Betty Jo Sanders; 9 brothers and sisters; daughter, Billie Janee Johnson.

Survivors include his caregiver, Charlotte Gomez of Hawkinsville, Georgia; two grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas PL, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
