Mrs. Edith Wilma Scott Brown, age 99, surrendered this life for a life eternal with her Savior on January 15, 2015 at Pinewood Manor.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Johnson, Rev. Freddie Rhodes and Rev. Michael Greer officiating.Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Edith Brown was born in Cazenovia, WI on September 4, 1915.She graduated from Reedsburg High School and Sauk County Normal Teachers Training.She also attended Moody Bible Institute.She taught all 8 grades in WI country schools and later became a Christian worker with C & MA home missions in the mountains of KY where her compassionate heart for children was exemplified through school chapels, Boys and Girls clubs and summer camps.In her retired years in GA she traveled in the U. S. and abroad.She was employed as a caregiver for several ladies.The Senior Center, church activities and family gatherings gave her pleasure.She is remembered as a devoted, fun-loving wife, mother and grandmother.Edith was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and the Antioch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Hershel) Roberts of Coquille, OR; daughter, Judy (Jackie) Sapp of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughter, Joyce (Richard) Johnson ofLaValle, WI and son, David Brown of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary Walker of Trenton, NE and husband, Rodney Brown.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. January 19 at the residence of Judy and Jackie Sapp: 2057 Vienna Highway.
