Mrs. Elizabeth Oliver Hammond, age 76, of Hawkinsville, Georgia died on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her residence. Services for Mrs. Hammond will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Rhodes officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Clark Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Alamo City Cemetery in Alamo, Georgia.
Elizabeth was born in Wheeler County on September 8, 1942 to the late Reuban and Cynthia Oliver. Mrs. Hammond was a retired registered nurse having worked at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She also worked at Taylor Regional Hospital, the office of Dr. Larry Gattis and at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home. Elizabeth was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church in Wheeler County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuban and Cynthia Oliver; brother, Louie Oliver and sister, Margie Padgent.
Those left to forever cherish her memory include her husband, Dod Oliver Hammond of Hawkinsville, Georgia; sons, Billy (Heather) Woods of Toccoa, Georgia and John Matthew (Erin) Holland of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
