Ernest Gainer Sparrow

Ernest was born on April 16, 1937 in Pulaski County, Ga.He served in the Air Force and after serving 4 years he married Nellie Cleo Swearingen.He was a farmer and later worked at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement in 2013.He was a pilot and loved flying his plane.He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.Ernest was also an antique car enthusiast.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Gainer and Alice Ruth Lancaster Sparrow and a brother, John Cleveland Sparrow.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Swearingen Sparrow of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Bruce Gainer Sparrow and John Lawton Sparrow, both of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Virginia Stephens of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Abby Sparrow, Timmy Bruce Sparrow and 2 great-grandchildren.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
