Carolyn Gail Hutcheson Holmes, age 77, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Hawkinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Kelly Pritchett and Dr. Don McClung officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens in Bleckley County.
Gail was born on July 1, 1939 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Harley T. Hutcheson and Maida Hall Hutcheson. She was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and also retired in 2012 from the Pulaski County Board of Education, as a paraprofessional. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Holmes and her son, Ronnie Holmes.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Fred) Clark of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Lisa (Kevin) Cook of Dry Branch, Georgia; brother, Loy T. (Jackie) Hutcheson of Jackson, Georgia; grandchildren, Alex (April) Holmes, Jay Clark, Kayla (John) Hair, Christopher (Ashley) Clark, Candi (Tom) Dokey, Josh (Lesley) Cook and Chris Cook. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; nieces, Sue Holmes (Johnny) Johnson, Rhonda Hutcheson (Clay) Bowden; nephews, Jimmy (Kathy) Holmes and Randy (Allison) Hutcheson.
