Gayle Scarborough

Gayle Scarborough, 77, passed away March 17, 2024, in Tallahassee.  Gayle was born in Hawkinsville, GA and was preceded in death by her parents, Rubye and Bob Scarborough.  She is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and a stepsister.  Gayle also had many friends in Tallahassee who will miss her greatly.

After college, Gayle moved to Atlanta and enjoyed all the adventures of a large city but did not like the weather.  She then moved to Miami, FL and loved the weather, activities, and cultural events.  Miami was always Gayle’s favorite place to live.  She loved the Miami Art Show and attended every year even after moving to Tallahassee.  Gayle met her former husband in Miami, and they had fun exploring the town and surrounding areas.  They moved to Tallahassee so that he could attend school.

Gayle was employed as a Legal Secretary for many years before moving to a smaller company where she stayed until retiring early.  Gayle loved to cook and garden.  You could find her researching recipes and using the fresh herbs she grew to make many wonderful dishes.  She also loved animals, especially cats.  Gayle had several beloved pets over the years, which she spoiled.  She enjoyed reading, especially Agatha Christie.  She also enjoyed music, which she had playing most of the time.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, GA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to your favorite animal charity.
