Harold Eugene Oberg

September 1, 1945 — February 8, 2021

Dr. Harold Eugene Oberg, age 75, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at Navicent Health in Macon, Ga. A memorial service will be held in the sanctuary of the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 with Rev. Jack Varnell officiating. For family and friends unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church facebook page.
Dr. Oberg was a native of Ogdensburg, New York and a member of the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church.He taught in the South Carolina Public School System, Armstrong College in Atlanta, Ft. Valley State University and Central Georgia Technical School. Harold was a member of the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Arts Council.
Survivors include his wife, Millie Oberg of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Brendan Oberg of Kennesaw, Ga., Daniel Oberg of Ogdensburg, New York, Richard Bowen of Statesboro, Ga.; daughters, Deborah Oberg of Norfolk, Virginia, Lina (Jeff) Jones of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sister, Bonnie Henson of Columbia, South Carolina; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
