Mrs. Helen Mildred Jones Halstead, 98, of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Lake Haven Rehabilitation Center in Valdosta, Ga.A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Orange Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott officiating.
Mrs. Halstead was a native of Bleckley County, Ga. and a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.She was a homemaker.Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ethel Smith Jones; husband, Basil Kilby Halstead, Jr.; brother, Willard Jones and sisters, Fannie Holland and Nell Hall.
Survivors include daughters, Myra Halstead (Bill) Hurst of Hawkinsville, Ga., Jessie (Zeke) Dorsey of Valdosta, Ga., Patricia (Greg) Southwell of Tucker, Ga.; grandchildren, Matt Dorsey (Heather), Rex Dorsey, Adam Hurst (Audra), Hall Hurst (Cindy), P. K. Hurst (Kimberly); great-grandchildren, Jake Dorsey and Addyson Dorsey.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
