Hubert Jennings Bennett, Sr.

Hubert Jennings Bennett, Sr. age 82, of Hawkinsville died early Monday morning, November 24, 2008 at Taylor Regional Hospital.Graveside services will be held at 4 P.M.. on Tuesday, November 25th at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church in Hawkinsville at 4:45 P.M.Dr. Don McClung will officiate the service.Family and friends are invited to visit in the Social Hall after the service.

Mr. Bennett was a member of First Baptist Church.He farmed most of his life and had retired as bus shop foreman from the Pulaski County School system.He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Dawson Bennett, sister, Francis Bennett Wright of Hawkinsville, and grandson, Matthew Hubert Bennett of Byron.

Survivors include his three sons, Hubert Bennett, Jr. (Bridgette) of Byron, Tony Bennett (Debra) and Larry Bennett (Susan) of Hawkinsville; grandchildren; Christy Peterson (Chris), Emily Bennett, Kyle Bennett, Brian Bennett, Ashley Bennett and Chelsea Bennett; one great-grandson, Matthew Thomas Bennett, all of Hawkinsville and one sister, Elwanda Bennett Daniel of Hawkinsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to the building fund at First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville.

Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
