Ira Edward Brown, "Brown", 81, died January 14, 2010 at his residence in Hawkinsville, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Broad Street Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Bryant and Don Jenrette officiating.Burial will be in Middle Ground Cemetery in Dodge County.
Mr. Brown was born in Chester, Ga. on June 23, 1928 but had lived most of his life in Hawkinsville, Ga.He was a member of the Broad Street Baptist Church.He was retired from Inland Container Corporation after 40 years of work.Ed was owner of Brown's garage and had been a mechanic since he was 13 years old.He never met a stranger and was always willing to help and was known for his kindness.He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Homer Dean Brown; brothers and sisters, Raymond Brown, H. D. Brown and Myrtice Fellows.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Velma Brown of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughters, Ann (C. W.) Strickland and Faye (Don) Jenrette, all of Bonaire, Ga.; sons, Wayne (Patricia) Brown of Cochran, Ga. and Tommy (Becky) Brown of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Macon, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Brown, Scotty Brown, Clint Brown, Dustin Brown, Michael Brown, William Brown, Edwin Jenrette and Kevin Minor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Strickland, Mark Bowen, Ryan Williams, Glen Brown and Greg Floyd.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Clark Funeral Home.
