Isom Wedrel Broadaway,96 passed July 5. He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman 1st Class, Kid's Cruise from ages 17 - 21, Enlisted from August 16, 1941 - August 16, 1945 serving a Tour of Duty in Guam. Wedrel met his Sweetheart, Janita Ann Woods while swimming in Bluff Creek, a popular swimming hole in Pulaski County, GA. He began farming with his Father, Isom and a friend told him about a job at the "H" Bomb plant in Augusta, GA. Wedrel began working there in 1951. In 1952 Wedrel & Janita were married on Christmas Eve. They enjoyed almost 72 years together. He later worked at Opilaka cotton mill and eventually retired from Blue Bird Body Company. Survivors include his son, W.T. Broadaway (Bonnie); daughter, Jan Newman (Jimmy); grandchildren, Rachael Broadaway, Rebekah Broadaway (James), Dustin Broadaway (Chelsey) and four great grandchildren.
