J. W. Peavy, Sr., 79, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the Crisp County Hospital in Cordele, Ga.Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 in the Mt. Pleasant Church cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Martin officiating.
Mr. Peavy was a native of Worth County, Ga. and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.He worked with the Georgia Forestry Commission and was a retired Pulaski County school bus driver.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Courson (Ronnie) of Hawkinsville, Ga.; son, J. W. Peavy, Jr. of Hawkinsville, Ga.; brother, William Lee Peavy of Albany, Ga.; sister, Vera Mae Cook of Byron, Ga. and 2 grandchildren, Amber Courson and Cameron Courson, both of Hawkinsville, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Wood, Ryan Popken, Brad Sirmons, Diane Wood, Jana Wood and J. R. Brady.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Courson and J. W. Peavy, Jr.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
