Mr. James Anthony Colson, age 79, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Colson Park, 13 Colson Street, Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at St. Thomas AME Church, 205 North Dooley Street, Hawkinsville, GA 31036. Interment will be in the family plot at Pine Bloom Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Mr. Colson was a retired educator with 41 years of service to the citizens and children of Pulaski County. He also served many years as a Hawkinsville City Commissioner.

Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Colson; daughters, Deborah Colson and Peggye Colson Brown; son Jerry Colson; brother, W.C. Colson and sister, Annie Lee Davis.
