James Hinton Goodroe

April 19, 1937 — November 29, 2023

Mr. James Hinton Goodroe, age 86, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at his residence in Hawkinsville, Ga.  Funeral services be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with a visitation starting at 10:00 am. Roy Goodroe and John Robert Goodroe will be officiating.  Burial will be held in Walnut Cemetery.

Hinton was a native of Dooly County, Georgia and was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, Ga.  He was a retired Civil Service employee at Robins Air Force Base and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, planting a garden and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Butler and Annie Louise Peavy Goodroe and his wife, Nancy White Goodroe; brother, Willie Joe Goodroe; son, J. H. Goodroe and baby girl Goodroe.

Survivors include his son, Randy Allen Goodroe (Jamie); daughters, Paula Goodroe Nixon (Jeff), Leigh Ann Evans and Tracey Cobb; brothers, Walter Roy Goodroe (Marilyn), John Robert (Debra McWhorter) Goodroe; daughter in law, Paulette Quick Goodroe; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
