James Thurman Gordon

Mr. James Thurman Gordon, 84, of Pineview, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at his residence in Pineview, Georgia.  A visitation will be held Saturday May18, 2024 at 11:00 am with a funeral service following at 12:00 pm at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Pope officiating. Burial will be at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Gordon was a native of Wilcox County, Georgia and a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Pineview High School. He retired from Taylor Regional Hospital. He loved to work in his garden and tend to his animals. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Eula Mae Gordon, his late wife Donna Jean Gordon, and his siblings Paul Gordon, Runelle Brown, and Cheryl Busbee.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Gordon of Pineview, Ga.; son, Kevin (Charlotte) Gordon of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughter, Leslie (Mike) Simmons of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Wes (Renee) Gordon of Hawkinsville, Ga.; son, Joel (Shelby) Gordon of Milledgeville, Ga.; sister, Dahlia Woodard of Hawkinsville Ga.; sister, Mary Ann Black of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sister, Brenda Medlock of Cordele, Ga.; brother, Johnny (Sally) Gordon of Hawkinsville, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Wes) Yawn, Johnny Lucas, Michael (Erin), Tiffany (Justin) Viarengo, Lauren (Vikash) Joshi, John Simmons, Wesley (Rachel) Gordon, Brittney (Spenser) Johnson, and 12 great-grandchildren, Ansley Peacock, Tatum Pearce, Trinity Lucas, Dominic Lucas, Blake Gordon, Dillon Gordon, Chloe Viarengo, Avi Joshi, Laurel Gordon, Adalie Gordon, Landon Johnson, and Rayelee Johnson.

Flowers will be accepted to Mt Pleasant Baptist Church.
