James William Miller, Jr., 70, of Pineview, Ga. died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Ga.Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Jerrell, Rev. Larry Wilbanks and Rev. Victor Lyons officiating.
Mr. Miller was a native of Pulaski County, Ga., but lived most of his life in Pineview, Ga.He was a member and active deacon of Friendship Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Pineview Volunteer Fire Department and a volunteer for M. S. Ride at Callaway Gardens. James was a merchant and store proprietor in Pineview, Ga. and had an interest in antiquing and collecting pottery.He enjoyed the mountains and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.James was precededin death by his mother, Thelma Rhodes, step-father, Olin Rhodes and brother, Terry Rhodes (Kathy).
Survivors include his wife, Anelia Cohen Miller of Pineview, Ga.; father, James Miller, Sr. and step-mother, Jo Miller; son, Jeff Miller (Teri) of Pineview, Ga.; daughter, Cinda Stamey (John) of Roswell, Ga.; brothers, Jerry Rhodes (Vickie) of Pineview, Ga., Earl Miller and Ed Miller, both of Sebring, Fla.; sisters, Dianne Coody (Jimmy) of Eastman, Ga., Roxie Simmons (Bobby) of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Francis Smith (Joey) of Pineview, Ga.; grandchildren, Will Miller of Pineview, Ga. and Elizabeth Stamey of Roswell, Ga. Mr. James is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Social Hall Building Fund or to the Georgia Baptist Children's Home Fund: P. O. Box 34, Pineview, Ga. 31071. Please specify which charity you would like the donation to be applied to.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
