Mr. James William NeSmith, age 74, of Hawkinsville, Georgia died on January 5, 2019 at Serenity Hospice in Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Hawkinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Don McClung officiating. The family will greet friends from 2p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church. Burial will be at Orange Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. NeSmith was a native of Eastman, Georgia and graduate of Dodge County High School. He retired from the United States Army and Air Force Reserve having served 27 years combined time. James also worked and retired from Frito-Lay. He was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church and served 19 years as a fireman with the Hawkinsville Fire Department. James also worked with G. Heileman/Stoh Brewery, State of Georgia Department of Corrections, Robins Air Force Base Training Center, Armstrong Cork Company and Taylor Regional Hospital as a certified emergency medical technician.
Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Bobbie Miller NeSmith; daughters, Monica (Joey) Morris of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Mandy (Michael) Scott of Cochran, Georgia; grandchildren, Will Scott, Reagan Scott, Amanda Katheryne Morris and Taylor Morris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.
