James William Payne, Jr. passed away on December 29, 2011 at his residence in Pineview, Ga.Memorial Services will be held at Cedar Creek Baptist Church on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Nap Granade officiating.
Mr. Payne was born on December 6, 1925 in Monticello, Georgia and was the son of Dr. and Mrs. James W. Payne of Monticello, Georgia.He was a World War II Navy Veteran.He attended North Georgia College and Ga. Tech.James retired from Sears and Roebuck after working 31 years.He worked with Indian Guides and Boy Scouts for several years.He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and a member of the VFW Post 5290.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sims Payne of Pineview, Ga.; son, James W. Payne, III (Gaye) of Conyers, Ga. and a daughter, Polly Payne Hendricks of Conyers, Ga.; four grandchildren,Jennifer Morrison of St. Simon's Island, Jessica Brannen of Leesburg, Ga., Meagan Hendricks and James Hendricks of Conyers, Ga.; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Brannen of Leesburg, Ga.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
