James Willard Powell
August 27, 1936 — August 3, 2016
James was a native of Crecy, Texas and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kathleen, Ga.He was an Army Veteran having served 21 years before retiring as a Sgt. First Class. Mr. Powell served during the Korean War and completed 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Erika Powell of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Danny W. Powell (Denise) of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Rodney Powell of Holly Springs, North Carolina; sisters, Wanda Jo Carr of Texas and Nora Jane Walters of Texas; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Clark Funeral Home chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hawkinsville VFW Post 6077.
Clark Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
