James Lamar Richardson

August 10, 1939 — December 17, 2022

James Lamar Richardson, 83, of Hawkinsville, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Conner Richardson, daughter Sandy Richardson, son Keith (Katie) Richardson, granddaughters Mary Stephen and Kaylee Richardson and grandson Wesley Yawn (Kelly), brother-in-love Smooch Conner, cousins Curtis Richardson, Willie Richardson and Laverne Kilgore. He is preceded in death by his son Stevie Richardson, brother Clinton Richardson and double cousin V.H. Richardson, parents Lois Nelson and Marvin Richardson, grandparents Lee and Evie Richardson and very special friends Ellis Cromer, Johnny Sigmon and William Wood.

Lamar was a devoted deacon of Antioch Baptist Church where he held numerous leadership positions. He also had a beautiful singing voice and sang with the choir and Men's Quartet. His love for the Lord, his family, his Church and the community was evident with his loving, caring and giving spirit.

Lamar was a 1958 graduate of Hawkinsville High School where he loved playing football. His love for sports continued as he coached football and baseball as a part of the County Recreation Department. He was always a big supporter of the Red Devils and was awarded a Lifetime Big Red Booster Club Member. He lived by example and was a role model for all he coached through the years.

Lamar was an avid hunter and loved to golf. He loved his children and grandchildren and supported them in all they did. He retired from Robins Air Force Base and the National Guard where he served in active duty during Desert Storm. Lamar loved God, his family and his country. His kindness left a mark on so many people’s hearts and he will be greatly missed.

The Family will receive guests at the Richardson home, 179 Noble Rd., Pineview, Ga. 31071

Funeral services will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Phil Streetman and Rev Luke Watson officiating with graveside services to follow at Wesley Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lamar's memory to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Jackie Sapp, 2056 Vienna Hwy, Pineview, GA 31071. – OR Antioch Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2, Hawkinsville, Ga. 31036
