James Leon Williams, Sr., 84, of Bonaire, Georgia died Sunday, July 14, 2013 in Houston County. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville, Georgia with Chaplain Todd Shearin officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Norristown, Georgia at 4p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Williams was a native of Lumber City, Georgia and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II. Mr. Williams retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Williams and his brother, William Harmin Williams. The family extends gratitude to Serenity Hospice of Warner Robins, Georgia for their care and thoughtfulness.
Survivors include two sons, James Leon (Deana) Williams of Warner Robins, Georgia and Douglas Eric (Sandy) Williams of Centerville, Georgia; step-children, Dale (Ray) Carter of Florida, Larry Monroe of Bonaire, Georgia and Mark (Dee) Monroe of Marshallville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Brad Williams (Sandra) and Kelly Luther (Derek); seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and five step-grandchildren including Amiee Megahee and Jamie Loyd; brother, Bud (Sid) Williams of Hawkinsville, Georgia; sisters, Hilda (Lennell) Sutton, Myrna Floyd and Betty Jo Barlow of Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 11a.m. to 11:45a.m. before the service. Flowers will be accepted but donations can be made to Serenity Hospice of Warner Robins, Georgia.
