Mr. Jerry Davis, 56, of Hawkinsville, Georgia, passed away, Friday, September 29,2023, at Taylor Regional Hospital after a courageous 13 year battle with cancer and kidney disease. Jerry was well known for his smile, his humility, positive outlook and a tendency to ask how you are rather than reflect on himself despite his great personal suffering. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. To know Jerry was to love Jerry. He will be forever remembered for his heart of faith throughout his extended illness. It was his utmost desire to be a living testimony of faith and devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, throughout his long illness.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday Oct. 2, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday Oct. 3, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville with the Rev. Dr. Don McClung, Rev. Blake Westbrook and Whitney Hill officiating. Burial will be held at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Pitts, Ga.
Jerry was born in Cordele, Georgia on August 1, 1967. He was an almost lifetime resident of Pulaski County and a member of First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville where he previously served as an Usher and a member of the Sound Committee. He was medically retired and was the former Vice President of Southeastern X Ray, Inc. Before illness rendered him unable, Jerry loved working on old tractors and restoring his old Camaro. He and Alicia enjoyed watching favorite television programs, listening to a variety of music, and having company come to visit. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Davis, his paternal grandparents, M.C. and Myrtle Davis, and maternal grandparents, Arnell and Irene Watson, along with many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 25 years, Alicia Endress Davis, and their beloved black lab, Shadow, his mother, Nell Davis, sisters, Jan McGuire, Vicky (Terry) Greene, nephews and niece, Steven McGuire, Adam McGuire, Shane Greene, James Greene, and Ashley Greene, along with many wonderful extended family members and friends.
