Funeral services for J. H. Goodroe, Jr., 52, of Pineview, Ga. who passed away on January 16, 2012 at his residence, will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday at the Broad Street Baptist Church with Rev. William Glover, Roy Goodroe and Frank McGarr officiating.Burial will be in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Goodroe was a native of Pulaski County and a member and deacon of the Blue Springs Baptist Church.He was the self-employed owner of Goodroe Forest Services, Inc.J. H. was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Wild Turkey Federation.He was a member of the Forestry Stewardship Program and a board member of the Farm Bureau.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Mays and Mr. and Mrs. James Butler Goodroe.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette Quick Goodroe of Pineview, Ga.; daughters, Lia Goodroe Evans (Randall) of Warner Robins, Ga., Mori Autumn Goodroe and Abby Noel Goodroe, both of Pineview, Ga.; mother Evelyn Mays Goodroe of Pineview, Ga.; father, James H. Goodroe, (Nancy) of Unadilla, Ga.; sister, Paula Nixon (Jeff); brother, Randy Goodroe (Jamie), all of Hawkinsville, Ga., father and mother-in-law, Paul and Betty Quick of Hawkinsville, Ga.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Clark Funeral Home Chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Blue Springs Baptist Church, 741 Blue Springs Road, Hawkinsville, GA 31036.
