John Michael Dokey, Sr., age 78 of Eastman, Georgia died on May 20, 2019 at Crossview Care Center in Pineview, Georgia. He was born on October 15, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Merritt Edward Dokey and Charlotte Mary Dokey. A rosary service will be held at 3:30 pm at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday May 25, 2019 followed by a memorial service at 4:00pm officiated by Father Jacob Almeter.
John was born on October 15, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Merritt Edward Dokey and Charlotte Mary Dokey. He was a retired horseman and truck driver. Mr. Dokey was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Eastman, Georgia.
Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Dokey of Eastman, Georgia; sons, John (Pam) Dokey, Jr. of Cleveland, Georgia, Michael Dokey of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Robert Shircliff of South Carolina, Robert Dokey of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Tom (Candi) Dokey of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Christopher (Krissy) Dokey of Midway, Georgia; daughters, Kellie (Rick) Haas of Florida and Shellie (Alvin) Roberts of Hawkinsville, Georgia; brother, Merritt Dokey of Michigan and many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.
