John Calvin Hadden Jr. was born April 4, 1929, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, Pulaski County. John Calvin was a loving husband, father, GanGan, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born to parents John Calvin Hadden Sr. and Sarah Ellen Daniel Hadden and was the oldest of 2 children.
John Calvin was a graduate of Hawkinsville High School. He worked as a federal employee, was the owner of Mosquito Creek Farms, was an avid pilot with over 6,000 flying hours, and managed many countless cotton gins.
John Calvin enjoyed spending his days surrounded by his loving family, a day on the water fishing, playing golf, hunting, singing karaoke, and flying his airplane. John Calvin was also a Mason and a Shriner.
John Calvin is survived by his children, Sally Boling of Hawkinsville, Mary (Jay) Ellwood of Bonaire, Luellen (Phil) Pike of Kathleen, John Calvin (Ree) Hadden III of Hawkinsville; step-daughter, Gay (Pat) Nelson of Hawkinsville; sister Betty (Bob) Bobo of Hawkinsville; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ernie) Powell, Patricia Pickett, Jimmy (Amanda) Thomas, Alana Mullis, Blake Pike, Ginger (Hank) Couillard, and Jay Hadden; step-grandchildren, Joy Nelson, and Clay Nelson; great-grandchildren, Madison Powell, Ellen Powell, Hadden Powell, Colton Powell, Layla Mitchell, Kasie (Kyle) Cason, Melinda Thomas, Jacob Thomas, and James Thomas; great-great-grandchildren, Tate Cason, Gunner Cason, Boone Cason, and Aubrie Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephew, great nephews, cousins, and a special friend Myra Stubbs. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Hadden, parents John Calvin Hadden Sr. and Sarah Ellen Daniel Hadden, and grandson Boots Boling.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 18th, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the residence of Sally Boling. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 19th, at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott officiating.
