Johnny Dorsey Bowen, 67, of Cochran, Ga. died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in the VA Hospital in Augusta, Ga.Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Rebie, Ga.
Mr. Bowen was a native of Telfair County, Ga. and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.He was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and was also a retiree of the Georgia Army National Guard.He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the 101 Airborne.He was an avid fisherman.Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Bowen.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn B. Bowen of Cochran, Ga.; sons, Tommy Bowen, Tyler Bowen, Stacy Mauldin, James Sikes, all of Cochran, Ga.; daughters, Evie Christina Wright of Hawkinsville, Ga., Kathy Bates of Cochran, Ga., Dawn Moore of Warner Robins, Ga.; brother, Jimmy (Norma) Bowen of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
