Joseph S. English

Joseph S. English, age 78, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away on August 11, 2023 at his residence. Services will be held at 6p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Pastor James Alexander officiating. Burial will be private in the family plot at Browndale Cemetery in Pulaski County.

Joe was born on December 27, 1944 in Houston County to the late Guy Richard English and Clements Hailey English. He was a graduate of Hawkinsville High School and a retired employee of both Bluebird Bus Company and Boeing. Mr. English was also the owner of Joes Bar & Grill in Hawkinsville, Georgia for many years. Joe attended Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening and nature. He enjoyed watching bluebirds and checking their nests for eggs at the Hawkinsville Harness Track. Joe loved his faithful and loyal four-legged companion, Nick. Mr. English enjoyed all the time spent with his friends and family from Hawkinsville and many surrounding areas and states. In more recent times he enjoyed his part-time position with Kathy Wells at her shop in downtown Hawkinsville. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, George English, David English and Noah English; sisters, Annie-Mae Johnson, Virginia Sinyard and Geneva Cooper.

Those left to forever cherish his memory include his daughter, Lisa English (Tony) Meads of Unadilla, Georgia and his sister, Lillian Terrell (Robert) Francis of Byron, Georgia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandi Griffith and William Starley; great grandchildren, Madison Starley, Kaylee Griffith and Carlee Griffith; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
