Mr. Joseph Barney Goss passed away peacefully at his home on November 3, 2022 with his wife, Cheri, of 56 years, by his side. He was born on June 16, 1945 in Hawkinsville, Ga. to Joseph Ward Goss and Beatrice Yancey Goss. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Winfred Huff and Rev. Barry Teutsch officiating. Burial will be private in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Joe and Cheri were high school sweethearts. They lived a full life dedicated to each other, their children and grandchildren. Joe loved telling jokes. He always had a smile for everyone and never met a stranger. He was “Papa Joe” to many. Joe was well loved by the community. His truck always had plenty of Mountain Dew and snacks to share. Joe loved to fish, hunt and visit the library, reading book after book, which was his favorite pastime. He beamed with pride over his grandchildren. They were his special angels.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheri; daughter, Jodi Watson, his special “Doodle” of Hawkinsville, Ga.; son, Joey Goss (Chasity) of Roddy, Ga.; Siblings, Danny Goss (Lorie), Martha Ann Lucas (Butch), LaVada Herman (Mike) of Perry, Ga., Nell Lancaster (Jerry), Janie Huff (Winfred); sister- in- law, Simone Taylor (Lenny); father- in- law Ed Darsey (Carol); grandchildren, Joseph Goss, Jon Eric Watson, Lane Goss, Lizzie Goss, Josh Goss, Abi Goss; special friend and valued employee Leon Cheese.
He will be sadly missed and will always have a special place in our hearts until we see him again.
