Mr. Joseph Norman Pellerin of Lexington, South Carolina died on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Hawkinsville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Pellerin and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lexington, South Carolina.
He enjoyed camping with his wife and spending time with his family. Mr. Pellerin was a U.S. Army Veteran having served from 1955-1957 on active duty as a French language interpreter. He also served six additional years in the reserves. Joseph was a member of the Good Sam's Club. He loved watching western films and especially John Wayne films in particular. He was a co-owner of Tina's Kindergarten in Lexington, South Carolina which was the first integrated kindergarten in South Carolina. Joseph was preceded in death by his father and mother, Henri and Yvonne Maillet Pellerin; brother, Yvon Pellerin and a sister, Julie Pellerin Mara.
Survivors include son, Shane Pellerin, daughter, Shanen Hammond (Bradley), grandchildren, Chase Gladden and Cooper Hammond.He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.Services will be held at a later date in Lexington, South Carolina.
