Kelsey "Olief" Price, born January 18, 1934, in Athens, Georgia, to Sam and Patsy Wingfield, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, surrounded by family and love.
Olief was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher who lived a life full of purpose and care. As a military wife, she embraced the challenges of supporting her husband, Jerry O. Price, and their family with grace and resilience. Later in life, she followed her passion for nurturing young minds, teaching nursery school in both Ohio and Hawkinsville, Georgia.
A proud Georgia native, Olief cherished her roots, her faith, and her community. She had a deep love for teaching, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family. Her warmth and wisdom touched countless lives.
Olief is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Patsy Wingfield; her sisters, Dee Epps and Mell Scherer; her beloved husband, Jerry O. Price; his brother and wife, Ben and Barbara Price; her son, Jerry O. Price II; and her grandchildren, Matthew Cutter and Rachel Cutter.
She is survived by her loving children, Julia Cutter of Hawkinsville, GA; Katherine and Mikel Barnett of Springfield, OH; and Chris Price of Springfield, OH. Her legacy lives on in her 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, from 5-7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home. A private burial service will follow at a later date for family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Olief’s honor.
Her love, kindness, and dedication to family and community will never be forgotten.
