Mrs. Laura Sue Pettey Reebals peacefully passed away on June 23, 2022. Mrs. Reebals was the daughter of Pete and Hazel Pettey of Hawkinsville, GA. She was born in Cochran GA on December 26, 1937. Mrs. Reebals was a native of Hawkinsville, GA where she taught English at Hawkinsville High School. She was a dedicated educator, thorough and ahead of her times. She went on to teach at Forest Park High School and Brandon Hall where she helped colleagues with technology and teaching. She never shied from a conversation about education, students, or books. If you asked for her opinion, you would get it!

She retired in Tucker, Georgia with her husband, Jim Reebals. They loved to travel and share their adventures together. She was never without a sweet gift for a friend or a book recommendation. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grands, nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was a proper Southern lady.

Mrs. Reebals is survived by her husband, James Shelton Reebals; Her sisters, Linda (Don) Lander of Brevard, NC and Catherine Johnson of Hawkinsville, GA; her son, Jim Poe of Lawrenceville, GA and daughter, Traci (Alan) Grant of Milledgeville, GA; stepsons Chris (Carrie) Reebals of Ruckersville, VA and Cameron (Ricco) Reebals of Atlanta, GA; and her grandchildren, Clark (Lindsey) Grant of Kansas City, MO , Laura (Adam) Parker of Nashville, TN, Michael (Michelle) Shrope of Lawrenceville, GA, David Reebals and Kate Reebals of Ruckersville, VA and great grandchildren Zach, Chloe and Callie Shrope.

Graveside services for Mrs. Reebals were held at 11 am on July 6, 2022 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity.
