LaVerne White Mirt passed away on May 22, 2013 from Alzheimer's.She was born onOctober 8, 1930 in Eastman, Ga. to the late Rosa Mae Smith and L. J. White.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended Hawkinsville High School.She and her husband, Charlie lived in Warner Robins, Macon and Eatonton.Once LaVerne retired from Belk in the 90's, they returned to Hawkinsville.Upon retiring, she enjoyed fishing, playing cards, eating chocolate, Braves baseball, laughing and more laughing, taking many trips in their motor home across the country and spoiling her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She loved and adored them and making memories with them was what she treasured the most.She was the best "MaMa" ever!In June of 2007 they moved to an assisted living facility in Kennesaw, Ga. due to their failing health.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mirt.She is survived by two daughters: Cheri Darsey Goss (Joe) of Hawkinsville, Ga., Simone Darsey Taylor (Lenny) of Acworth, Ga.; four grandchildren: Jodi Watson, Joey Goss, Brittany Duckworth and Erica Taylor; eight great- grandchildren: Jon Eric Watson, Joseph Goss, Lane Goss, Lizzie Goss, Josh Goss, Abigail Goss, Brady Duckworth and Ryder Duckworth.
Services will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home before the service.Burial will follow at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
