LEONARD"BUD"NICHOLLS
Leonard "Bud" Nicholls, 84, died in Hawkinsville, Ga. on April 23, 2013.He was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on February 23, 1929 to John and Myrtle Nicholls.His parents and brother, John preceded him in death.
A Masonic memorial service will be held on April 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville, Ga.
Bud graduated from Ishpeming High School and Northern Michigan University.He received his master's degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He met Eleanor Zaborsky when she visited relatives whom lived next door.They were married August 1, 1953.Bud is survived by his wife of 60 years and their 5 children: Sam Nicholls of Beaverton, Oregon, Evelyn Nicholls of Vancouver, Washington, Linnea Kava (Stanley) of Buford, Ga., Jennifer Jones (Stanley) of Boring, Oregon and John Nicholls of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also mourn his passing.He has always considered Sandra Nicholson Lee (David) of Deckersville, Michigan as his fourth daughter.
Bud was an educator.He began his teaching career in Detroit, Michigan and spent many years at Bentley High School and School Craft College of Livonia, Michigan.
Bud was a Mason for over 50 years and received the Order of the Purple Cross of the York Rite College.He was also a member of the American Legion.
Most important to Bud was his family.He saw that all of his children had every educational and extra-curricular activity available.
He will be missed by all whom were fortunate enough to have known him.
