Dr. Lynn Hugh Frisbie, 83, of Columbus, GA passed away on April 7, 2020.Lynn was born in Rehoboth NM on November 4, 1936 to Arthur and Letha Frisbie.He graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton, KS and went on to pursue a career in education earning a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Administration from Kansas State Teacher's College (Now Pittsburg State University) in Pittsburg, KS.He was a coach and teacher in Garnett, KS, Caldwell, KS and North Kansas City, MO and then served as a high school principal in Windsor, MO before going on to earn his Doctorate of Education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR in 1969.He was a Professor of Education at Georgia Southwestern College (now Georgia Southwestern State University) in Americus, GA from 1969 until his retirement as Division Chair of Education and Director of Graduate Studies in 1994.
As accomplished as he was in his career, he would say that his greatest accomplishment was marrying his wife of almost 61 years, Faye Marie Moser in 1959. He was an avid golfer, world traveler and raconteur who loved to dote on his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his cats.
He is survived by his wife Faye, Columbus, GA; his daughter Debbie Ribolini (Robert),Fortson, GA; Son Art Frisbie, Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters Becca Devens (Rick),Macon, GA;Emily Frisbie, Jacksonville, FL; and Meghan Frisbie, Pensacola, FL; great-grandchildren Jack and Juliet Devens; Sister Eloise Robbins; Freeman, MO; and Brothers Lowe Frisbie (Louise), Mogadore, OH; and Steve Frisbie (Carolyn), Olathe, KS and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
